Not Like Other Dads with Sean Szeps

Untidy - A podcast by Human Beans Media - Venerdì

In this episode of Untidy we talk to Sean Szeps, host of the popular podcast, ‘Come Out Wherever You Are’, and author of ‘Not Like Other Dads’. As well as a writer, podcaster and content creator, Sean is most well-known for his accidental advocacy, which arose from sharing his journey as a gay dad raising boy-girl twins alongside his husband, Josh.  We speak to Sean about what it was like growing up in a conservative Roman Catholic home whilst grappling with his sexuality. We talk about his coming out story and how he and his family dealt with the response of their community and their church. We also discuss gender roles in the family home, and how Sean and his partner Josh had the opportunity to reframe parental roles with a ‘blank slate’ rather than start with assumed duties based on gender.  Sean also shares hilariously relatable parenting videos on his Instagram, which are great for a giggle. Check out Sean’s Instagram @seanszeps, and you can order his new book ‘Not Like Other Dads’ here; a wonderful book empowering straight and queer parents alike to rewrite the parenting script.
