Carly Evans - Award winning on-air Red Dirt and Texas Country Music personality
THE TROUBADOUR PODCAST - The Premier Red Dirt, Texas Country and Independent Music Podcast - A podcast by Jared "Pete" Gile & Carly Evans
FROM THE ARCHIVES - THIS EPISODE WAS ORIGINALLY RELEASED ON FEB. 19TH, 2018. THIS WAS BACK WHEN PETE HAD STARTED THE TROUBADOUR ON HIS OWN AND HE WISELY ASKED CARLY TO BE A GUEST. The #1 way you can support our podcast is by visiting our Patreon page! For an original artist, getting your song on the radio is understandably a HUGE deal. But, a lot of artists aspiring for AIRPLAY don’t even know where to begin or how that process works. On today’s episode of The Troubadour I visit with the program director and on-air radio personality for KORA 98.3 FM, located in Bryan / College Station, TX, Carly Evans. I had the pleasure of making Carly’s acquaintance earlier in both of our careers when she was an on-air personality in Hays, KS and I was a wet-behind-the-ears aspiring musical artist looking for ANY and ALL publicity I could get! What gives this interview with Carly so much credibility, as it pertains the the Red Dirt / Texas Country genre, is that Carly’s career in Radio has primarily been at radio stations that have been known to show support for original artists within the scene. She provides lots of insights into the nuts and bolts of radio and some tips to aspiring artists on the best practices to gain the interest of program directors, music directors and DJs.
