Machandria Peters is no stranger to receiving derogatory comments based on her appearance alone. She has experienced discrimination which she firmly believes is solely due to the fact that she is differently-abled. That said, Machandria has not let that stand in her way and she strives to spread her message; which is to encourage differently-abled people to believe in themselves and to follow their dreams. In this episode, Machandria shares her experiences and encourages all of us to say no to the negativity being directed towards us. She chooses to drown out those comments designed to hold her back, be they comments from within or without … and she encourages us to do the same. Want to hear more? Then grab a cuppa - and keep listening! ~~~~~ More about Machandria Peters : Machandria has been destined to do great things from the start, she began this path of greatness by sliding out of the womb two months early. At the age of two, she was diagnosed with Cerebral Palsy. She never allowed the diagnosis to deter her from achieving anything she desired.   In 2011, she graduated from the University of North Texas with a Bachelor of Science in Development and Family Studies and a minor in Spanish. She has defied odds and accomplished goals that many thought would be impossible.   She is a Cerebral Palsy Warrior who recognizes that there is a limited representation for individuals who are differently-abled; she is passionate about sharing her experiences to advocate and educate. ~~~~~ * Coping with your BIG Emotions : Are you or your child struggling with big emotions at the minute?
