973. Low B12: Hidden in Plain Sight
The Doctor Is In Podcast - A podcast by Dr. A.W. Martin and Dr. A.P. Martin
B12 deficiency is much more prevalent today than it used to be. Back in the 50s and early 60s doctors used to give B12 shots all the time. Today, you almost need to be dead before they give you B12! There is a reason for it, and Dr. Martin calls it the hijacking of labs. Modern medicine relies on blood tests and established thresholds to determine a course of action. When it comes to B12 their limits are too low, so doctors rarely if ever give a shot. Even if people are low in B12, their lab results say they’re within a normal range. Dr. Martin has said for years that you need optimized levels of B12 to function properly. In today’s episode he talks about why people are deficient in B12 and the symptoms you should watch out for.
