49. Ecclesiastes 11

In your church service today, you probably won’t hear advice to live it up while you’re young and follow your heart. If anything, you might just hear preaching against that. But that’s exactly the wisdom Qoheleth shares as he begins wrapping up Ecclesiastes. This passage has stirred controversy since it was written, with some translations even altering its intended meaning completely. However, if you believe all scripture is inspired by God and profitable, you can’t ignore or change the parts that challenge your beliefs. This episode is a litmus test for those who claim to believe every word of the Bible and those who only use it to support their own views and ignore the rest. Ecclesiastes 11 will not be ignored.
