Justin’s gone right off the idea of buying a horse now he’s seen a few boats. As they look round another, Nancy can’t help correct Lilian on her sailing terminology. This needles Lilian to the point where she cracks and admits she has something to tell Justin about her past sailing days. She recounts how she crashed a boat after thinking she saw a walrus. Nancy and her husband have dined out on the tale ever since. Justin wishes Lilian had kept the newspaper report of the accident. The truth is that Lilian actually really doesn’t enjoy sailing – she only did it in Guernsey to fit in with her boyfriend. With Denise no longer working at the vet practice, Jakob struggles to find the equipment he needs. He stands by his behaviour when Alistair challenges him on his manner with Denise. This riles Alistair. Things go from bad to worse when Alistair returns to Greenacres for a break from Jakob’s belligerence. He discovers Mousse has broken a treasured mug of Jim’s. Tracy hopes it can be replaced but Alistair’s certain Jim will notice. Tracy listens to Alistair’s woes about Mousse taking a disliking to him as well as things being hard at the vet practice with no Denise and office equipment playing up. No wonder he’s feeling lonely, she concludes. Alistair quickly replies he’s not in the least bit lonely. Tracy insists on helping out at the vet practice tomorrow; she’s a wizard at fixing things for other people.
