Jennifer and Brian meet Stella, who declares she was impressed at the interview by how the family all worked as team. Brian and Jennifer laugh stiffly. When they discuss her salary, she asks for an extra ten percent to cover accommodation. When Brian offers five, Stella says she’ll have to think about it. Jennifer jumps in with seven and a half and Stella accepts. Later Brian admits he felt surplus to requirements. Jennifer explains she didn’t want to lose Stella – she thinks a fresh pair of eyes could be good for them. Ben asks for Pip’s advice about Evie; he’s not sure she’s the right girl for him. Pip thinks that although Josh had advised Ben to work at relationships, it shouldn’t take so much work after such a short time. Later Ben declares he’s going to do it. He asks Pip the best way to break up with Evie and she advises telling her straight. Afterwards he admits it was awful and that Evie cried, but he’s philosophical; when it’s over, it’s over. Pip wishes she could have been more like Ben at nineteen. Later Pip catches a shifty Ben hunched over his phone. He admits that Beth’s messaged him and he thinks it might be love at first sight for him. What if this is meant to be?
