Back in our magazine days, journalist and keen home edder Hazel Davis used to write a fortnightly column – Hey! Teachers! I’ll leave my kids at home – charting her adventures in home schooling her two little ones. The government is currently consulting on plans to launch a new register of children in England being educated at home. It’s estimated there are nearly 60,000 kids being home schooled, but no one really knows because so far no register.
