1974: When the Power of Solidarity Grounded an Air Force

In March of 1974, four crates arrived at the very specialized Rolls Royce jet engine maintenance facility in East Kilbride, Scotland.  The crates contained jet engines from the Chilean military.  When workers in East Kilbride saw where these crates came from, they voted not to touch them.  For four years the engines sat there at the factory, gathering dust.
