Rigs of Dad presents: A Slasher Celebration w/ Victor Miller (Friday the 13th) and Josh Newton (Shiner, Every Time I Die, and more)
Rigs of Dad Prodcast - A podcast by Rigs of Dad - Ross Hurt
Victor Miller is a man that has birthed many incredible things (aside from our very own Ian Miller). Most folks know him as the man who brought Jason Voorhees into this world as the writer of "Friday the 13th"! Victor joins us for the first ever extended interview episode of Film Basics with Bassists That Love Film, and the dude has stories!!! We talk about the inception of Friday the 13th, how it has grown over the years, the impact he has had on the horror genre, the impact the horror genre has had on him, the recent court win over the Friday the 13th IP, and what may lay in the franchise's future. Beyond all that, we are joined by returning guest Josh Newton to take a deeper look at the slasher genre. Everything from John Carpenter's Halloween, to Psycho, to Tucker and Dale Vs Evil... A true celebration of all things Slasher. Josh Newton is most known as a six-sting slinger in the band Shiner, one of the longest tenured bassists of Every Time I Die, and one of the most avid fans of horror films out there. This is Josh's THIRD time on the podcast, and is more than qualified to talk all things slasher and all things horror cinema. If you are a casual fan or a film obsessive, you will love to hear three dudes (whose only qualifications are playing bass) chat about all things horror in this very special episode of Film Basics with Bassists That Love Film. If you want to hear more of this conversation, the extended version is available to patrons on all tiers at the Rigs of Dad Patreon page FEATURING recent reviews on Candyman, Malignant, and Midnight Mass.
