Anuka Gazara-Anthony is an accredited Mongan Method Hypnobirthing teacher currently based in Bethesda, Maryland. She was inspired to leave her career and train as a Hypnobirthing Practioner after having her daughter in 2013. Anuka's first pregnancy and delivery were extremely difficult, she had many complications and was unprepared for her delivery. This led to many complications to her body after birth. She was determined to learn a new approach that could help her understand her body better during pregnancy and delivery. Anuka was determined to have a peaceful and calm birth with her second child. Hypnobirthing has changed her life in so many ways, but more importantly, it empowered her with the tools and techniques she needed to have a calm and confident birth – the way she wanted! Anuka trained in Transpersonal Hypnotherapy through the National Association of Transpersonal Hypnotherapists. She also has a postgraduate diploma in business from Oxford University. Her passion is to promote meditation, mindfulness programs, holistic practices, hypnotherapy, and hypnobirthing services which encourage best practices of self-care. For over 10 years Anuka has worked in areas of human resources and program management as well as in an executive officer role supporting and advising executives in government and international organizations which include the United Nations and the International Labour Organization. Across these roles, she has worked in different countries in Europe and Africa. These experiences have shown her how strategy, culture and the human connection can influence and impact how leaders can work with their employees with more effective leadership. Furthermore, it highlighted the positive influence of effective leadership can have on the lives of so many people from their conference tables to their dining tables. Anuka has over 20 years of experience of mindfulness meditation practice of various forms of meditation. Anuka is committed to strengthening the inner resilience and wisdom of individuals, executive teams, business groups and boards of directors using mindfulness-based leadership and emotional intelligence leadership coaching. She holds a BA from the University of Queen Mary ( University of London) a Master’s degree (MA) from the School of Oriental and African Studies (University of London) and a Postgraduate Diploma in Business Organizational Leadership, Said Business School, from the University of Oxford.
