Parenting Our Future - A podcast by Robbin McManne

Nobody is good when you are operating on little sleep. Not you OR your kids! So often we get frustrated when our kids resist sleep, come out of their bed multiple times, won’t sleep unless they are with you or have frequent night waking. Our biggest mistake is the expectation that our littles can sleep like adults do. They can’t so we need to help them. My guest Lara Rabb is a sleep expert and talks about how our children have both physical and emotional needs that can wake them from a restful sleep. Physical needs like hunger, or being too hot or cold. Emotional needs like a bad dream, or fears. As adults we can meet these needs for ourselves but our little ones can’t. Lara takes a holistic approach to looking at your child’s needs and what they are getting during their awake times that might be interfering with their sleep. Listen in as she talks about what your baby and toddler are needing to help them sleep better and answers your most common sleep frustrations from frequent waking to bedtime refusal.
