Plato's Republic is the proto model for technocracy. He takes us from the more material and hierarchical perspective to something more all encompassing. His view is more philosophic and focused on societies as a whole vs Machiavelli, Orwell, and Bentham who focused more on smaller groups of people under a specific ruler or party.
