The centurion described in Luke was respected by the Jewish elders for his generosity. So when the centurion's valued servant became ill, the elders pleaded earnestly with Jesus to come and heal this servant. As Jesus approached, the centurion sent word to Jesus that he was not worthy to have Jesus in his home, to just speak the word of healing and that would suffice. Jesus marveled at this depth of faith. He asks us today, "When the Son of Man comes again, will He find such faith"?
