WELCOME CELTOPHILE TO CELTIC MUSIC * Helping you celebrate Celtic culture through music. I am Marc Gunn. I’m a musician and podcaster. You will find a link to all of the artists in the shownotes, along with show times and chapters for each song when you visit our website at celticmusicpodcast.com. You can also support this podcast on Patreon. When you buy one of our compilation CDs, listen to it on streaming, or if you become a Patron of the Podcast, I donate 10% of the money earned to Celtic non - profits, typically Celtic festivals. We’ve donated over over $45,000 since I started this podcast in 2005. This year, I picked IrishFest Atlanta to be the recipient of our donation. The Irish & Celtic Music Podcast is a proud sponsor of the festival. IrishFest Atlanta was launched in November 2013 to promote the culture of Ireland through the country’s traditional music, song, dance, and language. The vision of IrishFest Atlanta’s original founders was to create a weekend of cultural performances, lectures, and workshops in a festive environment appealing to community members of all ages and varying familiarity of all things Irish. So each week from now until the festival takes place November 4 - 5, 2022, I’m gonna play music from an artist performing at the festival. Tickets are now on sale. You can see a list of performance times and workshops on the festival website at IrishFestAtlanta.org. WHAT’S NEW IN IRISH & CELTIC MUSIC: BEST OF 2022 Two weeks after the episode is launched, I compile the latest Celtic Top 20 votes to update a playlist on Spotify, Amazon Music, and YouTube. Email a voicemail message to [email protected] Ellen Mandeville emailed a photo: "I am conducting genealogy research. I’m recording this Saturday night after visiting and performing at the Middle Tennessee Highland Games and Celtic Festival. I had an amazing time. It’s been a while since I’ve been to some highland games. They did a brilliant job organizing it. I got to hang out with Kris Colt, The Secret Commonwealth, Clare Cunningham, Colin Grand - Adams, and Flatfoot 56. Everyone was just spectacular. I also got to meet several listeners, including one of our Celtic Legends, Shawn Cali. Congrats on your upcoming marriage! I captured a little bit of audio from the event that I hope to share. But for now, I’m winding down and heading back to my home in Atlanta, Georgia. Hopefully, I can do this again sometime.
