Angered that the the construction of the memorial, an eternal flame, would result in bulldozing part of Battery Park, neighborhood locals protested enough to stop the plan for now. Meanwhile, Mayor de Blasio remembers the covid-19 pandemic by hosting a ticker tape parade for essential workers.
