Apple has officially entered the AI space, but was the announcement underwhelming and confusing? They are focusing on on-device AI to prioritize data protection, but this also limits the capabilities of their AI. Siri is being pushed to be a personal assistant, but it has been underwhelming in the past. Apple is also introducing features for image editing and personalization, but these are not new innovations. Apple's approach is to rebrand existing technologies and release products when they are perfect, rather than rushing to market. They are using OpenAI's ChatGPT, which is surprising considering their ownership of percentages of OpenAI.
