The Woman with the Cure is a historical fiction novel that examines the life and contributions of Dr. Dorothy Horstmann whose work directly led to the end of the polio epidemic and whose contributions are still felt today.   Then stick around for the second part of the episode as Ashley interviews Anika Somaia, Co-Director at Empower Her* Voice. Listen in as Anika speaks on how she would like to see men in feminist movements and female voices in literature.
