Dope Black Dads have been heading up the discussions around the removal of Rapman's Film Blue Story at Vue Cinema, by writing a formal letter to the company and heading up the social media campaign, aiming to get them to explain the reasoning behind banning the film. In this episode, Marvyn is joined by fellow Dope Black Dad, Chris Becks and Kike Oniwinde, founder of BYP Network. They discuss their thoughts on the film, whether there should be more films with the theme of gang violence and the CEO of Vue's response to removing the film and how they plan to address this issue. Since the recording of this episode, Blue Story has now been re-screened in Vue and Showcase Cinemas. Dope Black Dads is place where we are changing the narrative and having progressive conversations about black fathers, as well as creating a safe digital space for the community.
