Claircast # 41 - Indianeren Art Reade 1

Claircast - Jette Harthimmer - A podcast by Jette Harthimmer

Interview Art Reade English episode of Claircast. My guest is Apache indian Art Reade, who since the early 80's has held seminars in Europe for thousands of people. Art Reade was born in Arizona, USA in the mountains east of Phoenix. During his pre-school years he was raised by his indian grandmother who taught him to use his intuition, respect all living things and to see the world as a connected whole. He became a school teacher and athletic coach, ultimately training Olympic-level runners at a university in California. Later he developed programs in personal growth, teaching various groups including prisoners and cancer patients. He taught patients to activate their own self-healing forces with very positive results. Art Reade's courses focus on reclaiming one's power and self-respect, cleaning up in one's past, setting goals for the future and applying action to those goals, the importance of taking responsibility on many levels, and more. All of his courses are based on indian and spiritual values, yet delivered in such a way that "ordinary western rational types" find appealing and understandable. Art is an exciting man with lots of charisma, a warm sense of humor and a big heart. I met him for the first time in Copenhagen in 1985 where I attended one of his courses, called "Clearing I". There were over 100 participants that weekend and in Germany there are often more than 200 people on a course with long waiting lists. Since then, I have attended all of Art's courses: "Clearing II", "Abundance", "Journey", "Spiritual Relationships" and the 12-hour open lecture called "Prayer Talk". Art has recently added two new lectures called "Spiritual Economy Talk" and the "Faith and Hope Talk". In this interview we talk about his dreams as a child, why Art originally came to Denmark, what he hopes to teach os, how we can change our lives if we feel like we have lost touch with who we are, what are some of the differences between the western and the indian way of thinking, how he manages to keep to an 80-hour work week without feeling stress, what are the secrets to his success when he never advertizes or markets his courses and much more. Art Reade grants interviews only very rarely because he believes it is better for people to come and experience the course with as few pre-conceived ideas about him or his courses as possible. I am therefore even more grateful to have had the opportunity to speak with him, "backstage" after his most recent "Clearing II" course in Copenhagen in November 2006. I hope you will enjoy this rare interview as well.
