Crack widening between Trump and top Republicans on briefing Biden

Anderson Cooper 360 - A podcast by CNN

Pres. Trump is still refusing to concede despite some top members of the Republican party beginning to recognize Joe Biden as the President-elect. The President has continued to spread baseless accusations of voter fraud and has pressed forward with legal challenges to the election results. The New York Times is also reporting that if the election is certified as a Biden victory, Trump has told some advisers he will announce a 2024 campaign shortly after. Tony Schwartz is the author of Trump’s “The Art of the Deal.” He joins AC360 to react to the President’s refusal to accept defeat and says the President doesn’t want to lose his ability to reach the public. Plus, with coronavirus cases surging to new highs, a key model projects 439,000 deaths by March 1 but that’s assuming 33 states impose or re-impose social distancing and other mandates. If those states don’t do that, the researchers project the U.S. could instead see 587,000 deaths by that date. Dr. Chris Murray is the director of the group at the University of Washington that’s been working on these models throughout the pandemic. He tells Anderson Cooper the fall/winter surge and people being indoors is to blame for the increase in cases and ultimately deaths.   Airdate: November 12, 2020   Guests: Tony Schwartz Dr. Chris Murray   To learn more about how CNN protects listener privacy, visit cnn.com/privacy
