How you refer to other countries can often reveal where you're from, for example, people who live in the UK don't call it the UK and yet for many New Zealanders it is commonplace. The UK, British Isles, Great Britain, Kiwis have used all these terms to describe the archipelago off the northwestern coast of Europe.
